NEC to showcase innovative business solutions for SMB and Enterprise markets at Gitex 2010

New technologies include MobiCall messaging, a sneak peek on Ultra short projectors and cloud computing solutions

Middle East, 11 October 2010 – NEC today announced that it is participating in Gulfcomms, part of the Gitex Technology Week, and will showcase innovative solutions across NEC’s wide spectrum of business solutions for SMB and Enterprise markets. NEC will also be one of the sponsors of a Gitex hospitality area.

At Gitex NEC will launch Mobicall, an integrated messaging solution for the mobile workforce in e.g. healthcare and hospitality sectors. MobiCall is designed to connect with a wide variety of external applications such as paging systems, nurse call systems, fire alarm systems, building management and workflow systems. NEC will promote UNIVERGE SV8500, its acclaimed communications server that is capable of supporting either a pure IP or converged hybrid communications network and also use this opportunity to expand its channel network across the region and share some exciting new promotions for enterprises looking to upgrade their communications systems.

NEC will furthermore preview its latest LCD Video Wall solution in the form of the NEW X462UN that features a number of upgrades over the X461UN model, including white edge compensation, and NEC proprietary technology that improves white edge performance giving improved visual performance.

In addition to this, selected models from an extensive range of professional display solutions will also be on show. With the growing need for displays for HLS (homeland security), control rooms, pro-displays for education and retail and display technologies for the transportation segment NEC is ideally placed to meet the needs of the market, offering LCD and LED display solutions. NEC will also share a first preview of the new range of Ultra Short throw projectors aimed specifically at the education segment and NEW M Series projectors for education and business users, both new model ranges have a comprehensive range of features to meet a wide range of customer needs.

In the area of IT platforms NEC will present its specialized and customized solutions to help businesses and service providers in its transition to private or public cloud computing, built around 3 main concepts: solutions for the IT infrastructure; solutions for IT strategy and its development, and finally solutions for hosts and private clouds with a SaaS ReadyToGo product range. For customers who have yet to be equipped, NEC will completely rethink the Data Center: from the building to the cabling through energy and space-saving issues, with the collaboration of its ecosystem of partners. NEC will be represented at Gitex by interFRONTIERS, its business development unit for the Middle East, Africa and South-Eastern Europe.
