Hilversum, The Netherlands – March 18, 2008 – NEC Philips Unified Solutions expands market opportunities for its Business ConneCT all-in-one communications suite with the introduction of the new Release 3.1.
With Release 3.1 the Unified Messaging capabilities of Business ConneCT have been significantly enhanced to create an ideal solution for organisations wanting to step into Unified Communications.
Mobile employees, particularly those in organisations located on campuses or large premises such as hospitals, universities, warehouses and the like, will benefit by the possibility of sending messages to wireless DECT or GSM phones. Instant Messaging between Business ConneCT clients provides an alternative way of contacting a colleague while he or she is busy on the phone. It can also be used by an operator as soft break-in, while for remote workers it saves telecom costs.
Opening new markets
Increased scalability enables Business ConneCT 3.1 to support up to 4000 extensions, all of which can be monitored by the operator, while now up to 2000 active employees can be served simultaneously.
Business ConneCT already supported an extensive set of languages, such as English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Brazilian and Chinese. Now Russian, Catalan and Portuguese have been added, opening new markets and adding to its user friendliness.
The contact centre functionality of Business ConneCT, providing agents with extensive caller information plus routing, queuing and IVR functions, has been further extended. A wallboard is now available showing real-time information such as service level, queue length, waiting time etc. This opens further markets for the application as advanced contact centre solution.
State of the art
Business ConneCT is a client-server based application that uses the latest .NET technology for optimum performance and flexibility. A technology update now makes Business ConneCT run on .NET 2.0. In addition, Business ConneCT clients can now also run Windows Vista.
Business ConneCT 3.1 is available across NEC Philips’ iS3000, 2000 IPS and SV7000 platforms and is currently available in all EMEA markets. Simple and cost-effective to deploy, its three user modes – employee, operator and contact centre agent – use a single server, single database, single installation point and single user interface. Business ConneCT offers small and medium sized companies all advanced communications functionality they need, including call control and (group) information, voicemail, directory services, operator and call routing functionality.
