Hilversum, The Netherlands – October 30, 2007 – With the introduction of Release 23 of its UNIVERGE SV7000 IP communication server, NEC Philips Unified Solutions has significantly enhanced the capabilities and applications supported by this high end enterprise communication solution.
With this new release the SV7000 now supports Business ConneCT, NEC Philips’ flexible all-in-one communication solution, as well as Virtual PC Centre (VPCC) combined with soft phone SP30. This secure, cost-effective and eco-friendly solution is based on a totally new thin-client concept of NEC, which comprises thin desktop clients and a virtualised desktop environment on the network.
With the addition of a local and system phonebook for its Dterm and DtermIP/SIP terminals and Boss/Secretary functionality the SV7000 Rel. 23 further enhances desktop productivity. For the hotel market NEC Philips has added guest room display for multiple line operation and has increased the number of groups. Several improvements such as Health check processing and timing have further improved the platform’s reliability, while added encryption capabilities enhance security.
Management and Mobility enhancements
The UNIVERGE SV7000 also supports the latest version of the MA4000 management application, providing the ability to centrally manage all of a company’s communication servers simultaneously, with minimal administrator interaction.
With MA4000 Release 6 major improvements have been made. Customers with a TDM based infrastructure can now also benefit from the LDAP Auto Provisioning feature. Support of IP-DECT terminals is included and offers the administrator a complete overview of fixed and mobile devices. Secure management is essential and the MA4000 Voice Server engine service has been enhanced to provide secure proxy functionality, enabling the proxy to connect application and Voice server via the SSH protocol, a secure encrypted connection. Last but not least, various user statistics have been added to enable the system administrator to analyze his system/network in greater detail.
SV7000 Release 23 also supports the latest version of UNIVERGE Assured Mobility, NEC’s third generation Wireless LAN solution, which has recently been enhanced with new software optimising voice quality, network load and handover. With the new MH250 SIP handset this solution meets the most sophisticated demands in wireless enterprise communications. Alternatively, Business Mobility IP DECT can be used as wireless solution in conjunction with SV7000. The latest version can support up to 750 Access Points, allowing large organizations and institutions, such as universities and hospitals, to make all staff mobile.
The UNIVERGE SV7000 is a scalable, secure and very flexible platform, suitable for enterprises, ranging from large international businesses and government organisations, to national businesses, hospitals, universities and the like. The SV7000 is deployed by customers across the globe, including Asia, Australia, North America, and Europe.
“The platform is extremely scalable and very well suited for very large and distributed organisations. And the combination of the SV7000 with VPCC Thin client servers demonstrates the unique solution we can bring to market as vendor spanning the full ICT spectrum”, comments Richard Sturrus, Business Manager at NEC Philips Unified Solutions.
