NEC PHILIPS’ NEW DECT HANDSETS ADD ELEGANCE AND COLOUR TO BUSINESS MOBILITY

Smaller and lighter than ever, the new G-series stand out in design, functionality and ease of use

Hilversum, The Netherlands   September 18, 2007 – With the introduction of two new DECT handsets NEC Philips Unified Solutions (NEC Philips) sets new standards in functionality and design of Business Mobility applications. The company’s new G355 and G955 handsets are smaller and lighter than ever, include an impressive backlit colour display and stand out as to their elegant design, rich functionality and ease of use.

With their unique design and scratch-protected surface, the G355 and G955 not only are exceptionally stylish, but are also suited to a multitude of more demanding professional environments. Beneath the surface, the sets offer a wide range of features, including internal loudspeaker for hands-free operation, call logging, a personal phone book and support of a corporate telephone directory.  The G955 additionally supports Alpha Numeric Message Service (LRMS) for alarm messaging.

DECT technology ensures crystal-clear voice quality and seamless handover, while powerful encryption techniques guarantee secure communications.

Stylish and comfortable
The icon driven menu and the message-waiting indicator of the new G-series further add to the ease of use they provide. For greater comfort, the G955 can be enhanced with a Bluetooth module in the battery compartment, enabling the use of a Bluetooth headset. Battery capacity ensures smooth operation with up to 120 hours stand-by time and up to 12 hours talk time, while a memory card can be added to the handsets to provide extended storage space

The sets integrate seamlessly with a company’s PBX and are easily installed and maintained, being upgradeable with new firmware by means of the DECT (air) interface.
