NEC PRESENTS BROAD PRODUCT AND SOLUTIONS PORTFOLIO AT GITEX 2007 IN DUBAI

Emerging markets need innovative business solutions: NEC at GITEX 2007

Dubai and London, September 7, 2007 –  NEC Corporation today announced that NEC again proves its broad expertise as one of the world’s leading providers of business solutions in the fields of telecommunications and IT technology at GITEX 2007 in Dubai starting September 8. The company will show its latest innovations and solutions for every professional demand on two stands at this year’s GITEX: NEC Philips Unified Solutions, in Zabeel Hall, booth F30, will show comprehensive communications solutions to organisations of all types and sizes. In Sheik Maktoum Hall, booth F10-1, NEC Display Solutions, NEC Computers and Sony NEC Optiarc will present their latest product innovations from Blu-Ray drives to LCD displays and Plasma screens, via projectors to Blade Server and Thin Client solutions.

NEC at GITEX 2007

NEC Philips Unified Solutions is introducing an array of communications solutions that will boost the effectivity of enterprises as the UNIVERGE SV7000. This scalable and secure platform allows using centralised applications at the corporate level as well as at branch offices. It streamlines operations and maintenance of a company’s network reducing operating costs. Customers now have the freedom of choice between IP and TDM technology to access voice services such as voicemail, auto-attendant and call centre queue announcements. Also on show is a full IP version of the Business ConneCT suite, an all-in-one communication solution that fulfils the needs of call centre agents, operators and office employees, as well as latest developments within the field of .DECT. NEC Display Solutions at GITEX shows a complete portfolio of DLP and LCD Business Projectors, desktop LCDs as well as large-screen LCD Public Displays and Plasma screens. In the display segment the visitor will find the broad product portfolio of widescreen desktop LCDs from 19-inch to 26-inch as well as professional solutions for the financial, colour management and medical market. In addition, NEC Display Solutions is introducing its 65-inch LCD display and a complete new series of Plasma displays – completing the range of Public Displays and multi-functional monitors like the Multeos or the 20series for Digital Signage applications. As a leading provider in projector business, NEC will exhibit its broad portfolio of mobile and installation business projectors for all requirements and for the first time present the Microsoft Vista Ready 16:9 Projector series.

Sony NEC Optiarc, the joint venture company of Sony Corporation and NEC Corporation for the global optical disc drive business, for the first time presents its new Blu-ray product range at GITEX fair. The company unveils their complete Blu-ray drive line up with half height drives for PCs and slim line drives for Notebooks. Special feature at GITEX: the first Double Layer DVD RW drive with 2,4 x speed.

NEC Computers is announcing two new Servers in exclusivity for GITEX 2007: the NEC Express5800/120Bb-6 and the NEC Express5800/320FC. The NEC Express5800/120Bb-6 is part of the new introduced NEC SigmaBLADE server line-up and the NEC Express5800/320FC is the newest version of Fault Tolerant with Express Cluster including up to two Quad-core Intel® Xeon processors and Microsoft® Windows Server™ 2003.Also new introduced range of workstations will also be presented, in particular the new Intel® platform supporting dual- and quad-core processors. Ideal for digital content creation, architecture, civil and mechanical and CAD, the NEC WI1510 workstation is the first “Quad-core ready” workstation.
As part of NEC Computers’ commitment to innovative technical solutions, also the Virtual PC Center (VPCC) will be live demonstrated. By converging voice and data, the VPCC thin client architecture provides users, administrators and companies with a high performance, easy-to-manage and cost effective solution endowed with security features.
