NEC ADDS NEW SOLUTIONS TO ITS UNIVERGE ASSURED MOBILITY VOICE OVER WLAN PORTFOLIO

Hilversum, The Netherlands, September 4, 2007 – With the launch of a new wireless SIP telephone terminal and powerful new software, NEC introduces significant enhancements to its UNIVERGE Assured Mobility Voice over Wireless LAN (WLAN) communications solution.

The new UNIVERGE Terminal MH250 is a uniquely featured WLAN SIP phone that fully meets the most sophisticated demands in wireless enterprise communications. The handset features a colour LCD display and boasts short messaging, presence management, phonebook and many enterprise telephony specific capabilities.

Optimised for voice, it offers best in class Quality of Service by Voice Priority, Fast Handover, Call Admission Control and Battery Life Save.  NEC has taken great care in ensuring a high level of security with the MH250 by implementing state-of-the-art authentication and encryption. The handset’s SIP interface provides maximum flexibility, enabling it to be used with NEC’s Assured Mobility WLAN portfolio as well as with other vendor’s WLAN’s.

UNIVERGE Assured Mobility WLAN has also been enhanced with new powerful software which optimises voice quality, network load and handover. It has been introduced by NEC Philips Unified Solutions in various countries across EMEA, where the new handset and software are available with immediate effect.
