NEC INTRODUCES LATEST VERSION OF UNIVERGE SV7000 IP COMMUNICATION SERVER

Hannover, Germany  –  March 14, 2007    NEC is introducing the latest version of the company’s high-end IP communication platform UNIVERGE SV7000 to the European market.  On show at CeBIT (Hannover, 15-21 March) is Release 21 of this scalable and secure platform, which now offers advanced integration with Microsoft OCS and with NEC’s innovative Thin Client solution for integrated IT and VoiP, the Virtual PC Center (VPCC).

The UNIVERGE SV7000 server is a scalable IP solution that can be distributed across IP Wide Area Networks (WANs), providing enterprise telephony on top of an IP network infrastructure and extending these features and capabilities to IP phones, SIP phones, media gateways, media converters, voice services, survivable remote media gateway controllers and many multimedia applications. The heart of the system is based on a true Client-Server design that does not require traditional hardware to support analogue stations or trunk circuits.

System survivability is an essential element, with a unique self-healing architecture that ensures business continuity. Its converged architecture streamlines operations and maintenance of the company network architecture and reduces operating costs and provides organisations with the flexibility to either centralize applications at corporate level, or at branch offices.

The modularity of the platform makes it highly flexible and suitable for enterprises, ranging from large international businesses and government organisations, to national businesses, hospitals, universities and the like.  The SV7000 is deployed by customers across the globe, including Asia, Australia, North America, and Europe.

“The UNIVERGE SV7000 is our top end IP communication platform, offering customers an excellent solution for native and hybrid enterprise networking”, comments Richard Sturrus, Business Manager at NEC Philips Unified Solutions. “The platform is extremely scaleable. A single server supports up to 4.000 IP terminals, while in a network there are virtually no limitations. And the combination of the SV7000 with VPPC Thin client servers demonstrates the unique solution we can bring to market as vendor spanning the full ICT spectrum”.
