Hilversum, 13 September 2011 - NEC Unified Solutions today announced the launch of a special sales campaign directed at boosting sales of its UNIVERGE DT700 Desktop IP terminals across all UNIVERGE SV8100, SV8300, SV8500, SV7000 and SIP@Net communication servers.
NEC’s UNIVERGE DT700 terminals combine the benefits of SIP with all the features and rich functionality provided by traditional system phones. The campaign reducing their list price until March 31st 2012 is aimed at boosting awareness and lowering thresholds for companies to embrace IP telephony.
Driving the benefits of VoIP
“Voice over IP has clearly proven that it is not a technology hype. It has steadily gained market share and offers businesses tremendous opportunity to increase productivity and flexibility, while reducing telephony costs”, says Andre Deijlen, Business Manager at NEC Unified Solutions. “In new system sales, VoIP is currently implemented in close to 50% of cases and is expected to increase to 70% in 4 years time”, he adds.
With VoIP, organisations can integrate all business communication needs into one single infrastructure, the data network, and in doing so streamline their telecommunications and reduce total cost of ownership. NEC’s UNIVERGE Desktop IP terminals bring out the benefits to the end users’ desktops.
DT700 highlights
DT700 terminals are ergonomically designed for natural comfort and facilitate use through an array of menu-driven soft key functions and easy-access function keys. Some of their highlights include:
- Terminals are easily upgradable with add-on line key modules, customizable faceplates, keypads and a choice of integrated LCD displays, offering extreme scalability and customization.
- XML open interface support enables the use of XML based applications, such as NEC’s UC suite, Business ConneCT. This provides users with directory, presence, click to dial, call redirection, call and voicemail log functionality on their desk phone, without the need of a PC or PC application.
- With the sets all system features are close at hand: voicemail setting and access via menu driven soft keys, call lists can be scrolled and redialled, incoming calls for colleagues can be picked up when they are away from their desk, and call centre agent features are set via the terminal.
- The DT700 terminals are designed and manufactured with the robustness and quality that NEC is renowned for and use wideband CODEC’s for crystal clear speech quality.
“Not everyone is aware of the advantages that IP telephony and our advanced terminals can bring to their business, and that’s why I am pleased that with this campaign we can bring these benefits to a wider audience and conquer an even greater portion of the market”, Deijlen concludes.
