Smart Mobile Client

Smart Mobile Client is a sophisticated mobile Unified Communications solution in the NEC portfolio of Fixed Mobile UC solutions that extends the functionality and capabilities of the enterprise communication server to RIM Blackberry, Nokia E-series and Windows Mobile devices.

Smart Mobile Client provides users of smart phones, such as the RIM Blackberry, Nokia E-series and Windows Mobile devices with the integrated experience of having the functionality of the company PBX system available from the smart phone. This includes UC functionality voicemail, corporate directory, presence information, instant messaging and conferencing.

Smart Mobile Client also allows users to roam between the cellular network and the enterprise WLAN.  This provides voice call continuity (VCC) with seamless in-call handover between the cellular and WiFi network leading to savings on cellular spending. Various other call scenarios provide additional savings by routing calls through the enterprise telephony network and by reducing international roaming costs by initiating the calls in the enterprise call server.
